Sam In Accident

By admin | December 21, 2009

Sam Bennett was involved in the first major accident of his career when he was in collision with a car on Friday outside of Windgap, Co. Kilkenny.

Sam was removed by ambulance to St. Luke’s Hospital in Kilkenny where he was diagnosed with a fractured collarbone, leg muscle andĀ  head injuries. He showed an improvement yesterday (Sunday), and could put some weight on his injured leg. It is expected that he will be released from hospital today or tomorrow.

Sam was due to attend a track training camp in Aigle, Switzerland in early January and then fly to China for the Beijing Track World Cup. Unfortunately, as happened last year when he got a chest infection, he will remain at home in recovery. Everybody in the club wishes Sam a speedy recovery.

On a cheerier note, we are all delighted to hear that our club PRO Bobby Power will beĀ released from hospital in time for Christmas.
