Carrick Wheelers Cup 2011 Race Info

Carrick Wheelers will again be promoting their annual St. Patrick’s Day race, The Carrick Wheelers Cup.  The race will be held on its usual circuit of Carrick – Glenbower – Kilheffernan – Kilsheelan – Carrick, starting and finishing on the top of St. John’s Hill on the outskirts of the town.  Sign on for the event will take place in the Carrick United Clubhouse, Coolnamuck Road, Carrickbeg, Carrick-on-Suir from 10am with racing starting at 12noon. 

Carrick Wheelers will be promoting two races using the same format as 2010, with the Category 1s and 2s in the main event and the Category 3s and 4s in the support race (Cat. 4s will receive a handicap on Cat. 3s).  The main event will be 100km with the support race 70km approx. Both promotions are again kindly sponsored by Thompson’s Funeral Home Waterford.

Prizes will be for the first 10 riders across the line in each event, with a generous €1000 prize fund and the prize presentation will be held at the same location as the sign-on: Carrick United Clubhouse, Coolnamuck, Carrickbeg, Carrick-on-Suir.
