Hugh Mulhearne made it two wins on the road this year after he soloed to victory at the Dungarvan Cycles Sports Trophy in impressive style. Just hours after being disappointed with his team mates at the team pursuit at the track on Sundrive road when they missed out on a championship bronze medal by a mere 2 seconds, Hugh bounced back and was ruthless in his display up to the finish on Colligan Hill at the end of the 56 mile event. In the thick of the action from the off, Hugh left his breakaway companions with 7 miles remaining in the tough event to arrive at the line with a comfortable gap and time to celebrate in style. Along with these road successes, Hugh took the Munster Time Trial Championship earlier in the year and is not finished his season yet. Hes training hard for some remaining goals before the season ends and with his current form, who would bet against him adding to his palmarès before the end of the year.
