On Tuesday 7th of April at 10 pm, Setanta Ireland will present a 60 minute programme called ‘Wheel of Dreams’ as part of their weekly ‘Sport Matters’ series. This programme was recorded in August and September of last year.
We don’t know what made the final cut, but interviews were recorded with Sam, Helen and Michael Bennett, Bobby Power, Sean Kelly and Martin O’ Loughlin. The main focus was the history of Carrick Wheelers and local cycling, how Sean Kelly made a huge career from the sport and how a young hopeful like Sam dreams of following in his wheelmarks. Footage of the Sean Kelly Tour of Waterford, Martin and Sam training together, and Bobby cycling down the Copper Coast was recorded.
