2013 Carrick Wheelers Cup Race Info

By March 14, 2013 Club News

Important notice: RACE ENTRY €15.
Iverk Produce Carrick Wheelers will again be promoting their annual St. Patrick’s Day race, The Carrick Wheelers Cup. The race will be held on its usual circuit of Carrick – Glenbower – Kilheffernan – Kilsheelan – Carrick, starting and finishing on the top of St. John’s Hill on the outskirts of the town. Sign on for the event is will take place in the Carrick United Clubhouse, Coolnamuck Road, Carrickbeg, Carrick-on-Suir from 9am and closes at 11am sharp, with racing starting at 11.30am.
The entry fee for this year’s event is €15. The increased entry fee is unavoidable for the promoting club as there are considerably more costs in running a CyclingIreland approved race in 2013, such as substantial commissaire fees and two lead cars for each event, to name but a few.
Carrick Wheelers will be promoting three races; with the Category 1s and 2s in the main event and Cat. 3s and Cat. 4s with a separate race each.
The main event and the Cat. 3 Race will be 100km (3 laps) with the Cat. 4 Race 70km approx (2 laps). All promotions are again kindly sponsored by Thompson’s Funeral Directors Waterford.
Prizes will be for the first 8 riders across the line in each event, with €1000 prize fund and the prize presentation will be held at the same location as the sign-on: Carrick United Clubhouse, Coolnamuck, Carrickbeg, Carrick-on-Suir.
We look forward to seeing you there!
