Award winning sports writer David Walsh will next month hold a talk about his 13-year pursuit of Lance Armstrong and how he uncovered what the chief executive of the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), Travis Tygart, called ‘the greatest heist sport has ever seen’.
The evening will be split into two halves, with Walsh spending the first part of the evening talking about his pursuit of Armstrong, recounting the moments which led to the USADA’s decision to strip Armstrong of his seven Tour de France titles. Following this he will be open to questions from the audience on his pursuit of Armstrong, the future for Armstrong and the sport he once dominated. Questions on Walsh’s career as a sports journalist in Britain and Ireland will also be encouraged.
Tickets for the event are €20, and include a signed copy of Walsh’s internationally acclaimed best seller ‘Seven Deadly Sins’. The event is also doubling up as a fundraiser for the Slieverue Parish Hall, with Walsh himself of course a native of the area.
