After 6 weeks of very hard, aggressive racing the Iverk Produce Carrick Wheelers promoted Beginners & Underage League came to a conclusion on Monday night last in Faugheen, Co. Tipperary. The league is as ever made possible by the generous sponsorship of Ó Ceallacháin’s Bar & Bistro, Carrick-on Suir and support of the South Tipperary Sports Partnership.
In the one lap event long time leader Nathan Hunterberg did enough to take overall victory. However, he was pushed all the way by Chloe Hawkins who finished second and Caoimhe Flynn who took third. Conor Hogan, Christopher Maher and Aoife Hickey rounded out the remaining places.
The three lap event it was Donal Brophy who took the overall honours. Aaron Kearney and Cathal Purcell finished 2nd & 3rd respectively. A total of 34 competitors signed on over the six weeks. This large groups of riders, handicapped expertly by Martin O’Loughlin, made for very exciting racing.
Prizes were given to all competitors and were handed out by sponsors Niall and Brian O’Callaghan.
