The penultimate round of the Ó Ceallachains Cycling League was once again a battle against the conditions in Faugheen. Heavy rain had eased somewhat, but it was still a wet evening. However, that didn’t dampen the enthusiasm shown by the cyclists who competed in the separate one and three lap races.

The first race of the league for beginners and under age cyclists promoted by Dan Morrissey Carrick Wheelers was held on Monday evening last, and it attracted 24 enthusiastic young riders to the start in Faugheen village just outside Carrick on Suir.

Stage 5 of the 2010 FBD Rás will finish in Carrick on Suir on Thursday 27th May, and what a spectacular finish it will be, because when the cyclists enter town from the Dungarvan Road into Carrickbeg, they will take a sharp left and race up the leg breaking Seskin Hill to the stage finish at the top !
