Dan Morrissey Carrick Wheelers Riders 2010 Dan Morrissey Carrick Wheelers will again be promoting two one-day cycling races in association with CyclingIreland. The first of these promotions will be the 55th St. Patrick’s Day race in Carrick-on-Suir which has been renamed the Carrick Wheelers Cup and is kindly sponsored this year by Thompson Funeral Directors.
The club will hold its annual riders meeting this Sunday 21st February in the Old Mill Pub, New Street, Carrick –on-Suir. The good news is that Sam Bennett is back on the exercise bike following his accident. His collarbone is knitting slowly. He has limited mobility of his left leg, but is undergoing physiotherapy and is up to 30 minutes of easy pedalling. In time, he should make a full recovery.
Sam Bennett was involved in the first major accident of his career when he was in collision with a car on Friday outside of Windgap, Co. Kilkenny. Sam was removed by ambulance to St. Luke’s Hospital in Kilkenny where he was diagnosed with a fractured collarbone, leg muscle and head injuries.
