Glorious sunshine greeted the riders on Monday evening in Faugheen for the first race in our 2009 league – a time trial. Sean Hahessy was the fastest on the night, recording an excellent time of 6.03 for the 2.2 miles. Conal Conroy was next with 6.52, with Richard Dunphy 3rd with a time of 7.11. Caoimhe Kelly was the fastest girl with a time of 7.43.
The league will continue with a 3 lap and 1 lap race on Monday 18th and 25th of May, and June 8th, 15th & 22nd. No race on the June Bank Holiday.

Of the newcomers, Bill Brennan, Clodagh O’ Donnell and Conor Hahessy caught the eye. However road racing is different from a time trial, and everybody starts with zero points on Monday night. So, it’s all to play for. Sign on in Faugheen at 7pm on Monday night.
