It is with deep sadness that we learned yesterday of the death of club member Barry Curran.
Barry had made a return to the bike after many years off last year. His fitness had improved and he had shed 14kg of weight. A lot of his cycling was done with his good friend Maurice Hartery. They recently did a seven day training block just before the bad weather.
Barry’s last club activity was our recent AGM. He is in the group photograph below (back row, second from left).
Everybody in the club extends our sympathies to Barry’s wife Aisling, his daughters Blathnaid and Elana, his family and his friend Maurice.
Funeral arrangements: Barry will be waked in his house in Ashtown Lane, Templeorum (behind Templeorum Church) on Thursday 16th of December between 3pm and 7pm.
The removal will take place to Owning Church on Friday morning. Requiem Mass on Friday 17th December at 11am.
