On Sunday 18th April 2010 the annual Tommy Sheehan Memorial Cycle Race promoted by Dan Morrissey Carrick Wheelers takes place in Carrick-on-Suir. The club will be promoting races for both underage and senior riders, with a generous €1,000 prize fund. The race promotions will be as follows: .
John Dempsey Dan Morrissey Carrick Wheelers claiming Stage 1 of 2010 Rás Chonamara The club gained their second and third successes of the season thanks to John Dempsey’s rewarding victories in the Rás Chonamara 2-Day event. This 3 stage affair promoted by Galway Bay CC consisted of two 80km road stages separated by a 5km time trial.

Record numbers turned up in Carrick on St. Patrick’s Day when 170 senior cyclists from all over the country took part in the annual Carrick Wheelers Cup races, and the good weather, excellent marshalling and plenty of cheering spectators made for another memorable day’s racing in the town.

The first of these promotions will be the 55th St. Patrick’s Day race in Carrick-on-Suir which has been renamed the Carrick Wheelers Cup and is kindly sponsored this year by Thompson Funeral Directors.
